Faith, Reflection & Motivation
Do you ever find yourself questioning your worth or doubting your value? It’s easy to feel that way in a world that often measures worth by achievements, appearances, or possessions. But Psalm 139:1-18 reminds us of a truth far greater: God values you deeply, just as you are.
This passage paints a beautiful picture of God’s intimate knowledge of and care for us. It begins with the assurance that God knows everything about us—our thoughts, our actions, and even the words we’re going to say before they’re on our tongues (vv. 1-4). He’s with us wherever we go, surrounding us with His presence (vv. 7-12).
Psalm 139:13-16 declares that God created us with intentionality and love. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Every detail of who we are was crafted by His hand, and every moment of our lives is known to Him.
God’s thoughts toward us are vast, precious, and numerous—more than the grains of sand on the shore (vv. 17-18). If the Creator of the universe holds you in such high regard, why should you ever question your value?
Let this be your reminder today: Your worth is not determined by the opinions of others or even your own self-doubts. Your value comes from the One who made you, knows you, and loves you more than you can comprehend.
So the next time you feel insignificant, reread Psalm 139 and remember: You are wonderfully made, deeply loved, and immensely valued by God.
