Veteran Help Point D/B/A Operation Honor: Rural Salute™ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering rural veterans and their families by bridging the gap between them and the resources they need to thrive. Our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that every rural veteran has access to the tools, support, and opportunities necessary for a fulfilling life after their service.
Our Story
Meet Chris and Michelle Lang.
Operation Honor: Rural Salute™ was born out of personal experience and a deep commitment to serving those who have served us.
Founders Michelle and Chris Lang, after Chris’s eight years of active duty in the Army, faced the challenges of civilian life head-on when they returned to their home state of Pennsylvania in 2019. Amidst the struggles of transitioning and health issues, they discovered a frustrating truth: while many resources existed to help veterans, they were often difficult to find, especially for those in rural areas.

Determined to change this, Michelle and Chris envisioned an organization that would not only connect veterans to the resources they needed but also build a community where they felt supported, valued, and empowered. This vision became Operation Honor: Rural Salute™, a place where veterans are guided to the organizations that can specifically meet their needs, ensuring they never have to navigate their challenges alone.

What We Do
At Operation Honor: Rural Salute™, we recognize that searching for help can be daunting, especially in rural areas where services are limited. Our organization takes the burden off veterans by doing the searching for them. We seek out resources state by state, focusing on local or regional organizations that can provide direct, effective assistance.

Our interactive map is a powerful tool that allows veterans and caregivers to other veterans in their area. Allowing them to know that there are people in their area that can relate to their physical, mental, emotional, and daily challenges and are there to meet up in person when struggles arise.

Additionally, our growing community network connects rural veterans both locally and across the country, ensuring that no matter where they are, they know they are not alone. Through our efforts, we are helping to build stronger, more connected rural communities where veterans can thrive.
